Recommended Method
The following procedure uses the Census Plus International mod to illustrate the steps for installing and then editing an optional parameter in config files created for TNG modifications maintained by the Mod Manager.
In general, the automated installs of TNG modifications will include the following steps:
- Download the appropriate config file
- Extract the zip file to a safe place on your computer.
- FTP all the unzipped files to your TNG "mods" folder. A Mod always contains a xxx.cfg file and sometimes a directory with other files. Be sure to FTP the xxx.cfg file and the directory "as is" in your TNG "mods" folder. (See how to extract and FTP your files)
- Remove previously installed version using the Mod Manager
- Install the appropriate config file using the Mod Manager
- Optionally, edit parameters
Optional Method
If your Host allow you to unzip zip files directly on its servers, follow this procedure:
- Download the appropriate config file
- Save the downloaded zip file
- FTP the file to your TNG Mods folder
- Extract the zip file in your TNG mods folder
- Remove previously installed version using the Mod Manager
- Install the appropriate config file using the Mod Manager
- Optionally, edit parameters
