Ajaxload.info allows you to replace the default spinner.gif image for your TNG installation with a custom made for your site's colours etc.

You can choose from a wide range of spinners, progress bars etc.

It could be handy in choosing a spinner to match the color scheme of your TNG template.

Note that TNG is coded in a number of pages for the spinner.gif icon to be 16x16 pixels, so you won't be able to change to anything other than that size without unexpected results.
